Oklahoma
LUBBOCK, Texas—Keilani Ricketts threw her third no-hitter of the season as No. 1 Oklahoma crushed Texas Tech, 9-0 in six innings.
The Sooners gave Ricketts plenty of run support, chasing Texas Tech starter Cara Custer after just two batters. Lauren Chamberlain led off the game with a single, and then stole second before being singled home by Georgia Casey. Pendley followed Casey with a home run. Altogether, the Sooners scored four runs on six hits in the first inning.
The score would stay 4-0 until the sixth inning when the Sooners scored five more runs to clinch the run-rule victory. Chamberlain and Pendley both hit home runs in the innings for the Sooners.
Ricketts struck out 8 and walked 4 to improve to 19-1 on the season.
Oklahoma State
WACO, Texas—The Oklahoma State softball team mustered just a single hit Friday night, falling to NO. 16 Baylor, 2-0 in Waco, Texas.
Heather Stearns picked up the win for Baylor, striking out 11 OSU batters. Kat Espinosa took the loss for the Cowgirls, dropping her record to 13-11.
The Bears scored both of their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. With runners on first and second, Sarah Smith singled to right, scoring Holly Holl and Kaitlyn Thumann on an error by rightfielder Erika Campbell.
That was all the run support Stearns would need, as she mowed down the Cowgirls in the last two innings.
