Explosion Reported In Downtown OKC

Emergency crews are responding to a reported explosion in downtown Oklahoma City, Friday evening.

Emergency crews are responding to a reported explosion in downtown Oklahoma City, Friday evening.

It happened in the area of Park Ave. and Broadway Ave.

According to reports, the explosion occurred in a tunnel that OG&E was working in. A fire had started but has since been extinguished.

One adult male was treated for minor injuries, though it is not known if that person is an OG&E employee.

According to an OG&E spokesperson, the explosion was caused by a transformer failure underground.

No other information is known at this time.
