Four Cowgirls from the women's basketball team have been selected as 2012-13 All-Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball performers.
A unanimous pick, Toni Young was one of 10 players named an All-Big 12 first-team selection. The senior is second in the league in rebounding at 9.8 boards per game and her 13 double-doubles rank second as well. Young's 15.8 points per game currently rank fifth and her two blocks per game check in at No. 4 among Big 12 players.
The honor is the second of her career. The Del City, Okla., native was named a second-team selection following her sophomore year.
For the second consecutive year, Tiffany Bias was named an all-conference second-team selection. The junior is currently averaging 6.7 assists per contest, which ranks third among league players and ninth nationally, while her 2.2 steals per game is the fifth-best average in the Big 12. The Andover, Kan., native ranks second in the league with her 36.5 minutes played per game as well and is fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Sophomore Liz Donohoe was named an honorable mention all-league selection for the second year in a row. The Edmond, Okla., native currently leads the Big 12 in free-throw percentage at 92.4 percent and is third in three-point field-goal percentage at 36.7 percent. Donohoe also ranks seventh in scoring at 14.9 points per outing.
In addition to being named an honorable mention All-Big 12 pick last year, Donohoe was also the league's freshman of the year.
Brittney Martin was unanimously selected to the all-freshman team. The Syracuse, Utah native currently ranks in the top five among Big 12 freshman in scoring (3rd), rebounding (2nd), steals (1st), blocked shots (5th) and assists (4th). Martin's 2.7 steals per game rank third overall among Big 12 players.
