After getting routed by Wayland Baptist at home in January, Oklahoma Baptist turned the tables on the Flying Queens with a 46-43 victory in Plainview, Texas, Thursday.
OBU had a nine-point halftime lead evaporate late in the second half as WBU tied the score 39-39 with 3:48 to play.
Lilia Inoubli scored with 3:18 to play and Diamond Austin completed a three-point play with 2:15 to go for a 44-39 lead.
Wayland Baptist got the next four points to make it a 44-43 game with 1:23 to play. The Flying Queens tried a failed drive to the basket with 21 seconds left and Charity Fowler claimed the rebound and was fouled with 13 seconds to go.
Fowler hit both ends of the bonus free throws for the final margin and OBU successfully defended a last-ditch three-point attempt.
Fowler was the leading scorer with 15 points to go with a team-best nine rebounds. Janell Beacham had three assists and Zbeyda Aremi added four blocked shots.
Now 12-10 overall and 5-6 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, the Lady Bison play at No. 4 Lubbock Christian Saturday at 1 p.m.
