Oklahoma State freshman guard Marcus Smart is one of 12 finalists for the prestigious Wayman Tisdale award. The award is given to the top freshman player in the country by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
Smart is averaging 13.6 points a game and scored the game-winner against Iowa State Wednesday night.
Previous winners of the award have been Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd and Chris Webber.
The winner will be announced April 15 in a ceremony at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
