Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say drunk driving is to blame for a one-vehicle crash that left a Broken Bow woman critically injured early Sunday morning.
It happened at about 2 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 70, just east of Fallon Rd. near Sawyer in Choctaw County. A 4-door, 2012 Chevrolet driven by 26-year-old Joshua Asher Tims of Ft. Towson, Oklahoma, ran off the roadway to the right and overturned about four times, according to the OHP.
Tims was not injured. However, the passenger in his vehicle, 22-year-old Kayla M. Gardner of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, was transported to the hospital in critical condition, suffering from head, trunk internal and external injuries.
Both Tims and Gardner were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
Troopers say Tims was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The cause of the collision has been listed as "DUI" in the OHP collision report.
