Fifth-ranked Oklahoma Baptist suffered its first home loss in two years, losing the NAIA Game of the Week to No. 10 John Brown in Shawnee Thursday, 75-70.
The Bison shot a woeful 11.8 percent from three-point range (2-17). OBU was 0-6 from the field, turned the ball over once and made four of eight free throws in its last 10 possessions.
OBU led 66-62 with 3:46 to play but didn't score another field goal. John Brown tied the game on a D'Shon Taylor basket at the 1:21 mark and took the lead for good on a Kofi Josephs three-pointer as the clock went under one minute.
The Bison got 17 points and 14 rebounds off the bench from Clinton Houston and 10 points from Kameron Price. Price led the team with four assists.
Kendall Parks and Chase Adams had two steals each.
With the loss, OBU drops to 3-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and 15-4 overall while John Brown improved to 5-0 in the SAC and 16-3.
The Bison now turn their attention to a Saturday road game at Oklahoma City University. Tip-off is at 5 p.m.
