Meeker's Gutierrez Signs With Bison Football

Former Meeker High School defensive back Byron Gutierrez has signed to play football at Oklahoma Baptist University.

Gutierrez, who will play linebacker or running back at OBU, will be a junior next fall after two years studying at Rose State College.

Gutierrez was a second-team All-District defensive back for the Bulldogs under Coach Mike Hedge. He was a three-time Player of the Week.

The 5-7, 180-pound Gutierrez is the son of Maria Ramirez and Carlos Morales. Byron will major in secondary education.
