The Connecticut school shooting has lawmakers everywhere taking a closer look at gun control laws. Some are proposing major restrictions that are being called unconstitutional.
News 9 spoke with Oklahoma lawmakers on the issue on Monday.
Gun stores in Oklahoma City are filling up as lawmakers take aim at certain firearms in the wake of the Connecticut school shooting.
"We know it's coming. We all know it's coming," says Miles Hall, owner of H&H Shooting Sports Complex, about the rush of concerned customers.
Meanwhile, lawmakers in Oklahoma say little will change with gun control in Oklahoma.
"I don't see anyone in the Oklahoma legislature trying to introduce such non-sense," said State Representative Mike Reynolds, (R) Oklahoma City.
In the wake of Friday's shooting, State Rep. Mark McCullough from Creek and Tulsa counties is proposing legislature that will give teachers and principals the right to carry a gun in the classroom.
McCoullough calls schools, "soft targets."
The idea of arming teachers was Okayed in Texas at one small school district in 2008.
U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein from California says she will now introduce new gun control legislation banning guns with big clips, drums or strips of more than ten bullets.
