Senior Mid-America Christian University volleyball players Becca Anderson and Calle Solie have each been selected to the CoSIDA/Capitol One Academic All-District VII squad.
Anderson has a 3.85 grade-point-average with a major in Math/Business Administration at MACU. Despite missing the past two matches with an injury, she still leads the Lady Evangels in kills (188), solo blocks (31) and total blocks (137). Her 137 blocks also leads the Sooner Athletic Conference and her 1.49 blocks per game ranks fourth in NAIA Division I. Anderson also holds the MACU career record for blocks (397) and is second all-time in kills (761) since the school joined the NAIA.
Solie majors in English/Business Administration with a 3.96 GPA. She ranks fourth in the SAC in assists per set (7.4) and is the school's all-time record holder in career assists (3537), single-season assists (1170), single-game assists (54) and digs (940) since MACU joined the NAIA. Solie also ranks fourth on team this season with 45 assisted blocks.
This award is voted on by CoSIDA members (College Sports Information Directors of America) and the requirements are the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in athletic standing, have appeared in at least 50 percent of the season's athletic contests and maintained at least a 3.3 grade-point-average.
Anderson and Solie will now advance to the Capitol One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third-team honorees will be selected later this month.
