RedHawks Earn Matinee Victory Over Cubs

Jimmy Paredes doubled, homered and drove in two runs to lift the Oklahoma City RedHawks to a 4-3 Sunday afternoon victory over the Iowa Cubs.

Mike Hessman also hit his 31st homer of the season in the top of the fourth.

Tied 2-2 in the top of the seventh, it was Jose Martinez' RBI single that lifted OKC into the lead for good. Paredes added his solo homer in the eighth to take a 4-2 lead.

Iowa threatened in the ninth, but could only score one run.

The victory earned OKC the series win over Iowa and also marked the RedHawks' final road game of the season. OKC returns home for a four-game series with Albuquerque starting Monday.
