Oklahoma City's four-game road trip to Memphis is off to an uninspiring start.
The RedHawks fell 6-2 to the Redbirds on Saturday, running their two-consecutive losses to a 14-3 combined score.
Oklahoma City scored its first run in the fifth inning when second baseman Jimmy Paredes drilled his 10th home run of the season over the right field wall to make a dent in what, at the time, had been a 5-0 Memphis lead.
The RedHawks only other run came in the eighth inning when Travis Buck doubled on a ground ball to right field, driving in Mike Hessman.
Memphis did a large chunk of its run scoring on one swing of the bat in the second inning. Ryan Jackson cracked a grand slam off OKC starter Sergio Perez, who fell to 2-2 on the season.
Perez lasted three innings, giving up five earned runs on four hits and striking out one.
Memphis had 10 hits against OKC's nine; neither team committed an error.
The two teams face off again on Sunday at 6:05 p.m.
