Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones was named to the preseason watch list for the Davey O'Brien Award Wednesday by The Davey O'Brien Foundation.
The Davey O'Brien Award is given to college football's top quarterback every season.
Other notable quarterbacks that made the list include Matt Barkley (USC), Denard Robinson (Michigan), Tyler Wilson (Arkansas) and Tajh Boyd (Clemson).
The Sooners' senior was a semifinalist for the award in 2011 and is the 19th OU player to appear on a preseason watch list for the upcoming season.
OU quarterbacks have earned the award four times in program history, the most recent being Sam Bradford in 2008. Jason White (2003 &2004) and Billy Sims (1978) also brought home the hardware.
Jones enters the season only three wins shy of tying Steve Davis (1973-75) for the school record for most victories by a starting quarterback.
