Hundred-degree temperatures have taken their toll on the two dozen water taxi captains who ferry guests around the Bricktown Canal.
The water taxi service is in its 13th year, and this past year it attracted more than 100,000 passengers.
Water Taxi General Manager Chad Huntington says the water taxi captains who usually make as many as eight round trips through Bricktown each day, handle the heat by drinking a lot of water.
Huntington says the captains are given an unlimited amount of free bottled water throughout the day.
Water Taxi Captain Jeremy Ford says during daily "down time," another key is to rest in the shade.
"We just sit outside. We enjoy the day and sip lots of water," Ford said.
