Thunder coach Scott Brooks is expected to return to Oklahoma City on Monday, where he is reportedly ready to sign a four-year contract extension.
Brooks' current contract was scheduled to expire on Sunday but reports came through on Saturday evening that a deal had been reached to keep the 46-year-old head coach with the franchise.
The specifics of the new deal aren't known yet, but ESPN the Magazine's Ric Bucher reported the deal is worth roughly $18 million in guaranteed money. It stands to be a significant raise for Brooks, who reportedly made $2.1 million this past season.
Brooks has gone 174-125 in the regular season and 24-19 in the postseason since taking over for the fired P.J. Carlesimo 13 games into the team's inaugural season in OKC in 2008-09.
The team has made notable strides under Brooks every season, making three playoff appearances, two Western Conference finals berths and this year's NBA Finals.
