Oklahoma State announced Tuesday that head baseball coach Frank Anderson will not return next season.

After nine years at the helm of the program, Anderson became the second winningest coach in school history with a record of 329-208.

OSU Director of Athletics made the announcement along with the following statement:

"When Frank took this job, no one anticipated that he would have to endure five years of very significant scholarship reductions due to miscalculations by the compliance office," Holder said. "This occurred in baseball and several other equivalency sports at OSU. Even though Frank was not responsible for the errors, he accepted his fate with a positive attitude and never used the situation as an excuse. I commend him for his loyal service to OSU and regret that he didn't get nine years with a full allotment of scholarships and a level playing field with the competition."

Oklahoma State finished the 2012 season with a record of 32-25 after falling to the No.8 Kansas State Wildcats in the Big 12 Baseball Championship.

Anderson started at Oklahoma State in 2004 when he took over for Tom Holliday.

He led the Cowboys to six NCAA regional appearances, two of which featured OSU as a top seed. From 2006 through 2009, Oklahoma State was the only Big 12 school to reach a regional final every season.

In Big 12 play during his time at OSU, Anderson totaled a 123-113 record. In his first season, the Cowboys won their first conference tournament since 1996. In 2007, Anderson and the Cowboys came within one game of the College World Series as the Cowboys fell in the third game of the Louisville Super Regional.

Under Anderson, 15 Cowboys earned All-America honors, 14 were All-Big 12 First Team selections, and four were Big 12 individual award winners, including Andrew Heaney who was named this year's Big 12 Pitcher of the Year.

There is no word on who will replace Anderson at this point, but stay with News9.com for all the latest updates.
