A boy was accidentally hit by his father's boat on Lake Arcadia Monday afternoon.
It happened around 3 p.m. Monday. Police say the teenager was tubing with his family on the lake when the accident happened.
Steven Williams brought his twins to the lake for some calm Memorial Day fun, but was met with horrific scene.
"When we got here, there was like nine or ten police cars followed by some ambulances," Williams said.
Williams' mother wasn't sure what went wrong.
"I thought he might have gotten bit but then someone said he might have gotten hit by a boat so I don't know what happened," Sylvia Oliver said.
Police tell News 9 a teenage boy about 14 or 15 years old was following his family's boat in a tube, but he lost the tube and began swimming. The boat swung around to pick him up but accidentally ran over him.
"People need to slow down and realize there are extra people on the lake. Our lake is really packed right now," Officer James Hamm said.
It was such a scary scene, Williams says he won't return with his twin boys.
"You can do a lot of stuff, but on water, you shouldn't have to risk it. I have two little ones myself and it's scary. I just rather take my kids to the park," he said.
Police said the teen was airlifted to OU Medical Center and suffered several lacerations to leg.
