In all of the chaos in the aftermath of the Woodward tornado is the story of one survivor who was all too familiar with these deadly storms.
Wilma Nelson's home on Robin Dr. in Woodward is destroyed. And 65 years ago the situation was much of the same when the then 18-year-old Nelson survived the state's worst tornado disaster, also in Woodward, on April 9, 1947.
This time around Nelson, 83, was even more prepared. Having gathered supplies and her dog, she hunkered down in a closet in the guest bedroom of her home and waited for the storm to pass.
