OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Barons got back on track Tuesday night with a 3-0 shutout over the Hamilton Bulldogs.
After capturing the West Division title this past weekend, the Barons now have their sights set on the best record in the Western Conference. OKC moved to 43-19-4-5, good for a six-point lead over second place Toronto for the conference lead.
Forward Antti Tyrvainen kept up his hot streak of five points in the past four games, this time putting up his sixth goal of the year. It came at the 3:22 mark of the second period.
Hunter Tremblay picked up the second score of the day for the Barons at the 8:36 mark in the third, finding the top of the net over Bulldogs goalie Peter Delmas.
And finally Ryan Keller took advantage of Hamilton's last-ditch effort with an empty netter with 16 second remaining to ice the win.
But the MVP of the day for OKC was probably goaltender David LeNeveu as he claimed his second shutout of the year, stopping 30 Bulldogs shots. It was the seventh shutout of the year by an Oklahoma City goalie.
Hamilton fell to 32-22-2-5 on the year.
The Barons continue the final four-game homestand this weekend as they take on Peoria on Friday night at 7 p.m.
