LUBBOCK, Texas – After an ugly start to the series, things worked out a little bit better for Oklahoma.
The Sooners came up with an impressive 8-2 win on Sunday to take the final two games of their series against Texas Tech.
OU coach Sunny Golloway said his team came together in the series, especially after dropping Friday's contest with the Red Raiders 6-1.
"This is not an easy place to play at," he said. "We are glad to come out of here with a series win and head back to Norman. Our goal was to come in here and win the series and that's exactly what we did."
It didn't take the Sooners long to get out to a lead with a two-run second inning, and a 4-0 lead by the fourth inning.
Catcher Dylan Neal led OU offensively with two RBIs
Steven Okert got the win for Oklahoma, throwing four innings and giving up four hits and no runs.
OU improved to 15-10 overall and 2-4 in the Big 12, while Texas Tech dropped to 15-10 and 1-5.
The Sooners will return home for four games against Oral Roberts starting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
