Jerome Ersland Appeals His Murder Conviction

An appeal is now filed in the Jerome Ersland case.

Ersland was convicted in 2011 of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

In 2009, he shot 16-year-old Antwun Parker once in the head during an attempted robbery at Reliable Pharmacy.

Ersland then got a second gun and shot him five more times.

He says he was protecting himself and his co-workers, but prosecutors say he went too far.
