FORT WORTH, Texas – One out is all that separated the Cowboys from a series win against the Horned Frogs on Sunday.
Instead, TCU picked up a 6-5 victory over OSU in 10 innings in Fort Worth.
Oklahoma State led the game 5-4 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. TCU's Jason Coats popped up a ball into the infield and the catch popped out of catcher Jared Womack's glove. It allowed Davy Wright to come around and reach home, tying the game at five.
The Cowboys had another chance to seal it in the 10th inning with runners on second and third with two outs, but Jarrett Higgins flied out to end the top of the inning, and the Horned Frogs finished it out in the bottom of the 10th.
TCU led 3-1 in the third inning but three runs in the fourth gave the Cowboys a temporary lead.
Randy McCurry started on the mound for OSU and gave up four runs in 5.1 innings. Gabe Weidenaar go the loss in an inning of play.
OSU will hit the field again Tuesday with road game against Missouri State. First pitch will be at 3 p.m. in Springfield, Mo.
