A one-car collision in Cherokee County has claimed the lives of a man and a woman from Oklahoma City Saturday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
This happened at 11:25 a.m. on Indian Road, about eight miles south of Keys, Oklahoma. Troopers said 32-year-old Stephan Michael Blevins was driving a 2007 Chevy Pickup truck, northbound on Indian Road, when he failed to negotiate a curve. The truck then went into a broad slide before striking a tree.
Angela Hudson, 36, was in the vehicle at the time of the collision. She was pinned for approximately 45 minutes before being freed by Keys Fire Department, and died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.
The other passenger, 39-year-old Toby Strunk of Oklahoma City, also died at the scene due to severe injuries.
Blevins, the driver, refused treatment at the scene, according to the OHP accident report.
Troopers said neither the driver nor the passengers were wearing a seat belt. They have determined the cause of the collision to be inattention.
