Franks was a big part of the Sooners' gameplan against Tulsa, bringing in seven passes for 74 yards, but didn't have a reception in Oklahoma's win over Florida State, serving primarily as a kick returner in both. As a freshman, Franks brought in 29 receptions for 263 yards and a touchdown.
The sophomore from Orange, Texas was a three-star recruit coming out of West Orange-Stark High School, turning in a 4.4-second 40-yard dash.
