NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Sooners have spent the majority of the summer working on their issues, but Monday they focused for the first time on Week 1 opponent Tulsa.
"We just watched their bowl game against Hawaii, and we watched their different formations and keeping an eye on their quarterback," defensive end David King said.
Tulsa quarterback G.J. Kinne was the focus of much of the defense's attention, but head coach Bob Stoops had plenty of praise for the Golden Hurricane's entire offense.
"Great quarterback and they've got an explosive receiver, and they got an offense that's put up an average of 41 points a game and over 400 yards," Stoops said.
The two teams will face off in the season's first action at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 in Norman. The Sooners won the last duel between the two teams 45-0 in 2009.
