Tragedy hit two Oklahoma families this week when their children were found dead inside their cars.
Is enough being done to protect kids in cars?
One organization says trunk release latches they pushed to have installed in newer model cars are helping.
"It is extremely frustrating," Janelle Fennell, president of Kids and Cars, said, "that one moment of inattention will cause the death of a child.
"We do not know of one fatality in a vehicle that has one of those glow in the dark trunk releases."
Trunk releases alone aren't enough, Fennell said. Parents, too, must do more.
"We just cannot be too vigilant," she said. "We need to make sure that people understand that the interaction of children and vehicles can be very dangerous."
