CLEVELAND COUNTY, Oklahoma -- The Cleveland County Office building and courthouse are closed Wednesday because of Tuesday night's severe and sudden storms.
The storms knocked out power to the office building and courthouse, so the county decided to close both for the day. Cleveland County Emergency Manager Dan Kerry says there was very little storm damage, but the offices cannot operate without power. Kerry says the electricity should be back on by the end of the day.
The Cleveland County Jail also lost power, so prisoners have been moved out of their cells and into the dayroom where it's cooler. The undersheriff told News 9 he's trying to find a generator to power the building until electricity is restored.
