OU Second, OSU 12th in Athlon Preaseason Rankings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Athlon Sports, a publisher of one of the top college football preview magazines, has named OU the No. 2 team in its preseason Top 25 for 2011.

Oklahoma has two preseason All-Americans and 14 All-Big 12 selections on the squad. Receiver Ryan Broyles and linebacker Travis Lewis were named second-team preseason All-Americans.

Alabama is No. 1 in the Athlon preseason Top 25 poll. Oregon, Florida State and Boise State round out the top five.

Oklahoma State is 12th in the magazine's preseason rankings.

The magazine also predicted the Big 12 standings, with OU sitting atop those rankings, followed by Texas A&M and OSU.

Athlon's preseason magazine has hit the shelves locally, and features Landry Jones on the cover of the regional edition.
