Hefner Middle Schooler Taken To Hospital After Ingesting Pills, Alcohol

Putnam City School officials said a 13-year-old Hefner Middle School student was taken to the hospital after she ingested prescription pills and alcohol Thursday morning.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Putnam City School officials said a 13-year-old Hefner Middle School student was taken to the hospital after she ingested prescription pills and alcohol Thursday morning.

Steve Lindley with Putnam City Schools said the girl had exhibited slurred speech and was lethargic during class. The school nurse contacted the girl's parents and called for an ambulance.

The girl had three pills of two different kinds when paramedics arrived.

The girl is in good condition at this time.
