ENID, Oklahoma – One person has died from injuries sustained in a drunk driving crash over the weekend. Another victim remains hospitalized from the multi-car crash.
Robert Ukena, 31, died Tuesday afternoon after succumbing to injuries sustained in the alcohol related crash on November 13. Michelle Schartz, 27, is in stable condition and improving.
Enid police arrested 24-year-old Vincent Blaine Sixkiller for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing the four car collision.
Enid police said three cars were stopped for a train crossing in the 300 block of West Willow Road around 2:00 a.m. Saturday. Police said Sixkiller was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop, causing a chain reaction of rear-end collisions.
Sixkiller was not injured and appeared intoxicated to the investigating officers. He was initially arrested and booked into the Garfield County Detention Center on driving under the influence causing an accident involving great bodily injury. An initial bond was set at $50,000.00 and Sixkiller bonded from jail.
Formal charges are pending the results of a blood alcohol content test submitted to OSBI and review of all the evidence by the District Attorney.
