OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's office has released autopsy reports of a Norman woman and son who were found shot to death last week.
The autopsy reports show 3-year-old Tripp Foster had a shotgun wound to the head and his mother, 41-year-old Wendy Lee Foster, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. His manner of death has been ruled a homicide, but hers is still pending.
Wendy and Tripp were both found dead inside their Noble home. Both bodies were discovered by Wendy's 13-year-old son.
Wendy's husband, Tim Foster, reportedly showed up at the home after the shooting and was taken away from the scene in an ambulance. It was unclear why he was taken away in an ambulance but he did not appear to be injured.
Foster, who is grieving the loss of his wife and son, has asked everyone to reserve judgement until police complete their investigation.
"Give us a chance to find the answers before everyone makes the decision for us," Foster said. "It's been the worst couple of days of my life not being able to see my wife and son."
Police said they are not actively seeking a suspect. However, police are "working the crime scene at the residence with all the care and thoroughness of a homicide," according to a Norman Police press release.
Captain Tom Easley confirmed firearms were involved.
"We found firearms at the scene. We're still trying to determine exactly what happened inside the house," Easley said.
The Wendy and Tripp Foster Memorial Fund has been established to help with funeral expenses at the McClain Bank in Noble, 213 N. Main, P.O. Box 1169. Funeral arrangements for both Tripp and Wendy will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Crosspoint Church in Norman, off Highway 9 and 24th Street.
The Little Axe Schools Superintendent Barry Damrill said the couple's other two children, a 13-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy, both attend Little Axe schools. Damrill said counselors will be available on Monday.
