OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City school employees were attacked by a student at Douglass High School Tuesday, police said.

According to police, a female employee was walking the halls and saw a 17-year-old girl who was not in class. When she told the student to go to class, the student started yelling and tried to punch her. That's when the principal and assistant principal tried to intervene and wound up getting hurt.

"We had a student today that was involved in an incident and during the process the assistant principal and principal were trying to calm the situation and had to restrain the student, and at that time the student kicked the principal and hit another assistant principal and so the student was arrested," said Tierney Cook, the spokeswoman for Oklahoma City Public Schools.

The student continued yelling loudly, cursing and trying to spit on employees, police said. She was arrested, transported to the Berry House and booked on assault and battery charges.

No names have been released.

In March, Douglass Principal Doctor Brian Staples was attacked by someone with a club. The suspect was crouching beside the principal's car. Police never tracked down the suspect.
