OKLAHOMA CITY -- A Fletcher superintendent has been selected as Oklahoma's superintendent of the year.
The Oklahoma Association of School Administrators bestowed the honor Wednesday on Kathryn Turner.
According to the association, Fletcher was named because of her many accomplishments, including renovations and additions to the southwest Oklahoma district's buildings and the implementation of a free summer school program.
The association also recognized Norman Public School's Carla Kimberling as assistant superintendent of the year.
Both women will be honored June 10 during an annual conference hosted by the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration in Oklahoma City.
