Oklahoma City Fugitive Sought in Ohio

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Ohio law enforcement is searching for an Oklahoma man who they say is a violent fugitive. 

Lloyd Compton, 44, is wanted in northeast Ohio on charges of assault and in Oklahoma on charges of eluding and obstructing police officers. The Oklahoma charges stem from an incident in Oklahoma County in January 2009. 

Comptom is scheduled for a hearing in Oklahoma County District Court on Thursday. 

The U.S. Marshal's Office in Cleveland Ohio said Compton has ties to northeast Ohio and has been seen the area in the last week. 

Authorities suspect Compton returned to Ohio to evade the charges in Oklahoma.
