OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Board of Directors for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner unanimously voted Dr. Douglas Stewart, D.O., as the new Chairman during a special board meeting Thursday.
Stewart is a pediatrician in Tulsa and previously served on the board from the Oklahoma State Medical Association.
"We are honored to have Dr. Stewart as our chairman. We believe his extensive background and experience with the OCME will greatly benefit the agency. We look forward to working with him in the years to come," said M.E. Spokesperson Cherokee Ballard.
Dr. Stewart replaced Dr. Dewayne Andrews, who resigned as chairman about a month ago but will remain on the Medicolegal Board of Directors.
