Santa Fe High School Teacher Faces Shoplifting Charges

A teacher at Santa Fe High School has been arrested in connection to shoplifting from an Edmond Wal-Mart.

EDMOND, Oklahoma – A teacher at Santa Fe High School has been arrested in connection to shoplifting from an Edmond Wal-Mart.

According to police, an Asset Protection Officer for Wal-Mart noticed 40-year-old Michelle Lea Hostler, select various items and put them into her shopping cart. He then observed Hostler push her cart through the lawn and garden department to an outdoor garden corral and proceed to the parking lot without paying for her merchandise.

Asset Protection Officers stopped Hostler in the parking lot and retained her until Edmond police arrived.

Hostler was arrested and booked into the Edmond City jail pending transportation to the Oklahoma County jail.

According to a police report, the items Hostler attempted to take from the store totaled more than $1,000 in value and included items such as a digital camera, clothing and other household items.

Hostler is an anatomy and physiology teacher, according to the school's Web site.
