OKLAHOMA CITY -- A woman was killed and a man was injured after a car caught fire near N.W. 63rd Street and Broadway Extension Tuesday.
The woman was identified Wednesday as 61-year-old Janet Adair.
The man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injures. His identity has not been released.
Police said they were responding to a separate call around 4:20 p.m. when they noticed a van on fire in the Broadway Plaza parking lot. Authorities said they are still piecing together what exactly happened.
"It's very preliminary in our investigation. We don't really know what caused it. We don't know how it started," said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Daniel Stewart.
Oklahoma City Fire Deputy Chief Cecil Clay said it appeared the van was having mechanical problems, and that Adair may have had "mobility issues" and wasn't able to get out.
