KFC Kicks the Buns with New Double Down Sandwich

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Monday, KFC went national with its new Double Down sandwich.

The new menu item features NO buns and instead is using two fried chicken breasts as "buns" for 540 calories. They also have a grilled version of the sandwich for 460 calories. Between the two chicken breasts are two slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheeses, two strips of bacon and a squirt of Colonel's sauce.

The Internet buzz and the tester markets for the new sandwich were so popular that KFC decided to release it in all of its stores.
