High Winds Fuel Large Grass Fires

CHOCTAW, Oklahoma – Large grass fires burns in eastern Oklahoma County today.

Reportedly one fire spread into a pile of tires at the bank of the Canadian River near Indian Meridian and 63rd Street at about 2:50 p.m.

At about 3:10 p.m. a fire burned on Simmons Road. Its cause is unknown.

High winds and dry conditions are likely to have fueled the fires.
