PONTOTOC COUNTY -- Two Oklahoma men were killed in a collision Saturday in rural Pontotoc County, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The accident took place at about 7:17 p.m. on State Highway 1E, about three miles west of Allen. A Plymouth SUV driven by Dennis George Williams, 59, of Allen, crossed the center lane and struck an oncoming Lincoln four-door driven by Harlan Dale Triplet, 80, of Moore.
Troopers say Williams' vehicle went left of center for an unknown reason, struck Triplet's vehicle and then rolled one-half times coming to rest on its top.
Williams, who was partially ejected from his vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMSA first responders.
Triplet was pinned in his vehicle. EMSA medical personnel also pronounced him dead at the scene.
A passenger in Triplet's car, Asako W. Speaks, 85, of Oklahoma City, was transported to Presbyterian Hospital by Air-Evac.
The Ada Fire Department, Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office and Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department assisted OHP and EMSA at the accident scene.
