JACKSON, Mississippi -- University of Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford traveled to Birmingham, Alabama Friday to see renowned sports surgeon James Andrews, according to OKBlitz.com's Dean Blevins.
Bradford has been recovering from a sprained shoulder, an injury he suffered during the season opener against Brigham Young University. He participated in throwing drills with the team last week, but Stoops cautioned against reading too much into the practice.
“I don’t want Sam to have to deal with the pressure of everybody’s expectations because it’s just not fair,” Stoops said. "The bottom line is it'll be day-to-day as he improves. I'm sure as he goes forward they'll give him more and more to do, and we'll just see how he handles it."
Bradford is visiting Dr. Andrews to see if there has been significant improvement to his injured AC joint.
If cleared for full-scale practice, Bradford could begin preparations for OU's upcoming game against Miami, a team that is very good at pressuring the quarterback. There is a possibility Bradford would suit up, but not play against Miami.
