NORMAN, Oklahoma - The Sooners' Jermaine Gresham will not play in Saturday's opening game against Brigham Young due to an injury, OU Coach Bob Stoops announced Thursday.
The All-American tight end has cartilage damage in his right knee. Doctors, coaches and Gresham are evaluating how to proceed. Gresham could be back soon or surgery could make it a season-ending injury.
Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson indicated that Trent Ratterree and James Hanna will be listed on the depth chart at the tight end position for Saturday game.
The Sooners and BYU meet at 6 p.m. Saturday in Arlington, Texas.
