Stormy Start To The Workweek

Severe thunderstorms delivered a deluge of rain last night in Garfield county. Nearly four inches of rain fell across the Enid area, and points just north near Carrier and Kremlin. The flooding rainfall forced many roads and highways across the northern part of the county to be shut down, and a flood warning is still in effect until 11:30 AM Monday. Elsewhere, high winds brought down trees and power lines, and damaged the roofs of several structures in the town of Goltry.

Additional thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and tonight across the northern half of Oklahoma, as a fast moving, compact, upper-level storm system moves over a surface boundary in place across portions of the Texas Panhandle, northern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. Severe thunderstorms capable of producing very large hail, damaging winds, flooding rainfall and frequent lightning will be possible from 4 PM through 7 AM Tuesday morning along and north of a line from Arnett to Kingfisher, Stillwater and Tulsa - thunderstorms may affect the Oklahoma City area early Tuesday morning.
