SKEDEE, OK -- Dozens of residents have been evacuated from their homes due to an ammonia pipeline leak in the town of Skedee, a community northeast of Pawnee.
The American Red Cross opened a shelter due to the chemical spill, according to spokesperson Nellie Kelly. They have ordered lunch for about 55 residents and expects eight of them to spend the night, Kelly said.
No one was injured, and the leak was quickly repaired, according to the Pawnee County Sheriff's Office.
The shelter location is at the First United Methodist Church, 800 Sixth Street, Pawnee.
