Woman Arrested in Death of 8-Month-Old

OKLAHOMA CITY - A woman has been arrested in connection to the death of an 8-month-old.

Master Sgt. Gary Knight says police were called to Children's Hospital on Thursday afternoon after Jamarrionna Cotton was taken there with a fractured skull and swelling of the brain.

After the Crimes Against Children Unit interviewed 19-year-old Sheree Brown, she was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on one count of Child Abuse and one count of Child Neglect. Police said investigators will amend the booking charges to first-degree murder.

Knight says Brown was apparently a friend of the infant's mother and was living with the family.
