The NBA playoffs are showing us some good and bad. The good is really good-perhaps the best first-round series ever between Chicago and Boston. The bad is products of the officiating. We're seeing more whining from players and coaches than at 9-year-old soccer games (I'm finding that out). We're also seeing officials being persuaded by fans-a complete no-no at that level. And we're seeing the flagrant foul-"did he or didn't he"-get completely out of control.
What's gonna happen with all-star OU recruit Justin Chaisson now that he has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges as part of a plea deal that will result in prosecutors dropping felony counts against him? The highly-touted Las Vegas defensive end was sentenced to a year of counseling after pleading no contest to coercion and domestic battery. OU tells me he will be allowed to enter school in the fall since the felony counts are dropped. Only fair. But here's betting Bob Stoops takes a hard look at the facts and probably won't trot him out there from Day one with a big ol' Attaboy.
