The family of a metro homebuilder who was killed three years ago is offering a $10,000 reward for helping police solve the case.
Thomas Young, 75, was found dead in one of his recently completed homes in August 2005. His son, Craig Young, said the family is still coping with the loss.
"He was a great person, a great dad, a great father," Craig Young said. "He was there for anybody and if you asked for money he'd give it to you."
Police officers have a DNA profile of a suspect, but have not matched it yet and do not have any leads.
"As far as we know he was nothing but a fine, upstanding, hard working citizen who ran across foul play," Sgt. Gary Knight said. "So that makes it more difficult when you've got a completely innocent victim like this someone who's got no criminal record."
Craig Young said he hopes the reward will bring information that will lead the killer's arrest.
"These people need to be taken off the streets so they can't do this to someone else," he said.
