Paramedics are praising an 8-year-old boy for saving his father's life.
Logan Penington called 911 gave paramedics information they needed to save his father's life.
His dad Stacy Penington is diabetic. Wednesday afternoon, after a day of football camp with his son, he fell asleep on the couch.
"I'm like dad, wake up and he didn't wake up and I walked over there and there was sweat all over him," Logan said.
That's when Logan realized his father was having a diabetic emergency.
He was in a diabetic shock - a dangerous medical condition that could cause brain damage or death. Logan saw his father in diabetic shock once before, two years ago After that episode, his parents prepared him to call for help
Logan gave paramedics street names and landmarks like a local airstrip to help guide them into the new addition.
"Once we got here, he said he is diabetic, he had done this before," Paramedic Brian Foreman said. "I was able to pinpoint the problem immediately."
Paramedics plan to give Logan an award for his efforts.
