Heavy smoke and flames engulfed a home at 1414 Canterbury, north of NW 63 St. on Monday afternoon.
Nichols Hills Fire Department Deputy Chief Terry Hamilton said firefighters were able to keep the fire to a back room, but it still caused a lot of damage.
"Severe smoke damage throughout the whole house," Hamilton said. "Really bad smoke problem when we arrived. We had smoke all the way to the floor coming out the front door when we arrived."
Firefighters said no one was home at the time.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
