Storms Could Bring Hail, High Winds, Tornadoes To OK Monday Afternoon

As the dryline continues to move in from the west, storms will likely develop Monday afternoon.

A tornado watch is in effect for Carter, Garvin, Jefferson, Love, Pontotoc and Stephens counties until 9 p.m. Monday. 

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Monday for 19 counties in Oklahoma. 

Storms could develop as early as 2 p.m. west of Interstate 35. The question still remains -- where will storms first fire up? They could be just west of I-35, along I-35 or even just to the east of I-35. That is only a 30 to 40 mile difference, and right now cannot be completely pinned down.

It all depends on the speed of the dryline as it pushes to the east. No matter where storms develop, they will be capable of large hail, damaging winds, and also a few tornadoes.
